I have a post on race and wealth that I hope I’ll be able to post in the near future. In the meantime, I’ll do a quick post on redemption.
Thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday, we had a Redbox movie night. Hubby’s been wanting to watch Ant-Man and The Wasp since it came out. We’re all Marvel fans so I was all for it.
The movie was great. Lots of laughter and touching family themes, especially about parents and children. It’s pretty
As Janet and Hank Pym return to the lab from the Quantum Realm, they knock out Ghost, who was on the track. Ghost was trying to siphon energy from the tunnel to heal herself but Ant-Man and Wasp stopped her. Ghost returns to consciousness as Janet is reuniting with her family. Wasp is about to blast her but Janet stops her. Janet gently approaches Ghost, telling her she’s sorry that she’s hurting. Ghost, surprised and wary, says, “I’m in pain all the time,” or something along those lines. Janet tells Ghost she can help and touches her fingers to Ghost’s temple. The touch shows a transfer of energy and Ghost stops phasing.
This is what Christ does for us. God exists outside of our known world. He is intimately familiar with our pain and struggles. Without Him, whether consciously or not, we are always aching. And He comes to us. He knows we cannot do it
It was a beautiful moment in the movie and a reminder of how well God loves us.
43 A woman suffering from bleeding for 12 years,
who had spent all she had on doctors[a] yet could not be
healed by any,
44 approached from behind and touched the tassel of His robe.
Instantly her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it,
Peter[b] said, “Master, the crowds are hemming You in and
pressing against You.”[c]
46 “Someone did touch Me,” said Jesus. “I know that power
has gone out from Me.”
47 When the woman saw that she was discovered,[d] she came
trembling and fell down before Him. In the presence of
all the people, she declared the reason she had touched Him
and how she was instantly cured.
48 “Daughter,” He said to her, “your faith has made you well.[e]
Go in peace.”
